Flying Colors Sports is proud to present the GREAT AMAZING RACE to build healthier and more active families! Touring all 30 NFL cities in 2012, we are committed to providing opportunities for adults (parents, grandparents, siblings, mentors, etc.) to get active with their kids in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
From start to finish, the race is the most invigorating outdoor activity for families to do together, ever! Whether you run, jog, walk or watch, it'll be an experience you will never forget! Help us promote awareness and recruit teams by telling your friends, neighbors and co-workers to join in the fun. The top 25 teams qualify for the National Championship Race and a chance to win $2,000!
Benefiting the ACTIVE30! family initiative which works to improve student academic performance and quality of life through activities that can be implemented at home, for little to no cost. Activities such as, engaging in 30 minutes of play, 30 minutes of healthy eating, and 30 minutes of reading a book, each day at home. Official Race Site: www.GreatAmazingRace.com.
To ensure fairness and safety of all involved, some of the tasks my be slightly modified for youth and senior participants. Teams are encouraged to purchase Charity Time Saver Tokens and receive a 1 minute deduction for every additional $5.00 submitted (up to 4 minutes). These monies will be donated to local youth organizations (Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, etc.) and military families for race registrations. Teams can purchase at any time prior to start of the race.
The course layout is spectator friendly, to allow family and friends to tag along and take photos for the scrap book. This is a rain or shine event! Racers & spectators can also sign up for the Victory Party ... food & drinks. It's an opportunity to share stories and celebrate with family, friends and other racers!
WHO:
The
race is for everyone – boys and girls – runners, joggers and
walkers - pee wees to adults. It is designed for teams of 2 (adult/kid, kid/kid or adult/adult), kids must be student in grade K-12. Pre-K is allowed if paired with a parent. Teams
can choose either race. Each wave of racers will be grouped by age and start 8-10 minutes apart.

AWARDS: Every participant who crosses the finish line gets an official time card to recognize their accomplishment. Special awards are given to the winners of each grade division (determined by grade of youngest team member): Grades K-4 Division, Grades 5-12 Division, and Adult Division. The awards will be presented at the main stage, shortly after each race.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: The top 25 teams qualify for the National Championship Race and a chance to win $2,000!
